PORRIDGE RADIO THE RIP

Porridge Radio unleash enormous their new track 'The Rip', a soaring and emotional heavy pop banger. The band are gearing up for the release of their new album Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder to the Sky on Secretly Canadian this May, following on from their Mercury nominated Every Bad. 'The Rip' is the biggest the band have sounded so far (in a career of seemingly endless hits): grand sweeping synths, heavy distorted bass, and infectious guitar lines all underpin singer Dana Margolin's distinctive part screamed vocals and characteristically emotional and heartfelt lyrics. Dana explains the ideas behind the song and how they achieved the sound "We wanted it to sound like massive pop, like Charli XCX, but with the instrumentation of bands like Slothrust or Deftones." The song is accompanied by a dark and atmospheric video directed by Dana's sister Ella (who also directed the video for previous single 'Back To The Radio') and features Dana pursued by masked creatures in a dark woodland. -Toby Evans-Jesra
